We're excited to invite you to participate in the Kofi Finance Alpha Testnet! This is your opportunity to explore our liquid staking protocol, provide valuable feedback, and earn rewards for helping us improve the platform before our mainnet launch.

What We're Looking For​

Evaluation Criteria​

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Impact: How severely the issue affects users or protocol security
  • Reproducibility: Clear steps to consistently recreate the issue
  • Quality: Thoroughness of documentation and suggested solutions
  • Originality: First submissions of unique issues receive priority

Rules & Guidelines​

  • Only legitimate, reproducible bugs will be rewarded
  • Duplicate submissions will not receive rewards (first submission takes precedence)
  • All rewards will be distributed at Kofi's discretion
  • Spamming or fraudulent activity will result in disqualification
  • Keep all discussions respectful and on-topic in Discord channels

Getting Started​

This comprehensive guide will walk you through the entire process of participating in the Kofi Finance testnet, from setting up your wallet to staking and unstaking.

1. Setting Up Your Wallet​

The first step is to ensure that you have an Aptos wallet with $APT. If you do not have an existing wallet, we recommend you check out some of the top wallets currently on Aptos below:

  1. Pontem Wallet

  2. Martian Wallet

  3. OKX Wallet

  4. Petra Wallet

2. Acquiring Testnet APT​

After setting up your wallet, you are now one step closer to staking $APT on Kofi. However, you first need to ensure your wallet has a balance of $APT to stake. If you already have $APT from other existing wallets, you can either transfer them in or use that existing wallet.

For the purpose of testnet, you can also request $APT from the official faucet

Step 1: Click the link to reach the faucet page and Login with Google

Step 2: Retrieve account address from respective wallet extension

Step 3: Paste your Aptos wallet address and click on Mint

Step 4: You should see a confirmation if it is successful

3. Minting kAPT​

Now that you have testnet APT, you can mint kAPT tokens:

  1. Head to alpha.kofi.finance/mint

  2. Connect your wallet with testnet $APT balance

  3. Approve connection request from wallet extension

  4. Mint kAPT
    For the purpose of the guide, we will first turn off the "Mint & Stake" function that was developed as a one-click feature.

    • Make sure that you see APT -> kAPT

    • Enter the amount of APT you would like to mint into kAPT

    • Click on Mint and approve wallet transaction

    • If successful, you should see a modal that informed you that you have minted kAPT. You should also open your wallet extension to check your kAPT balance

4. Staking kAPT to Earn Yields​

This is not the end of the journey because Kofi adopts a double token model which you can read more about here.

With your newly minted kAPT, you will begin to earn Kofi points on the Kofi ecosystem and you can also utilize it with other Dapps on Aptos chain.

However, you can earn up to 7% APR on Kofi by staking your kAPT to receive stkAPT which is the liquid staking token of kAPT. This section will show you how to do so:

  1. Navigate to the staking page (https://alpha.kofi.finance/stake)

  2. Ensure that your wallet is already connected and that you have minted kAPT in the previous section

  3. Enter the amount of kAPT that you would like to stake

  4. Click on Stake kAPT and confirm wallet transaction

  5. If successful, you should see a modal confirming that you have done so. Alternatively, you should also check your wallet to ensure that you have received the right amount of stkAPT

5. Unstaking stkAPT​

When you're ready to convert stkAPT back to kAPT:

  1. Navigate to https://alpha.kofi.finance/stake and select "Unstake"

  2. Connect your wallet with stkAPT balance

  3. Enter the amount that you would like to unstake or click on "Max" if you wish to unstake all your stkAPT

  4. Click on "Unstake stkAPT" and confirm wallet transaction

  5. To check if you have successfully unstaked, you can open up your wallet to check if the balance of kAPT has increased or go to Activity to check your recent transactions

6. Redeeming APT from kAPT​

To withdraw your original APT tokens:

  1. Navigate to https://alpha.kofi.finance/mint

  2. Toggle to Withdraw

  3. Connect Wallet with kAPT balance

  4. Enter the amount of kAPT that you would like to withdraw or click on "Max" if you wish to withdraw all your kAPT balance

  5. Currently, all unstaking will take 14 days and 0% fee will be charged. Click on "Withdraw APT" and confirm wallet transaction

  6. You should see a modal if your withdraw request was successfully sent. Alternatively, you can scroll down and check that you have a new withdrawal claim available in 14 days

  7. Check back again in 14 days to claim your withdrawn $APT
